江戸後期から６代続く佐渡の名工鋳金家、本間琢斎によるものです。何代目かは不明ですが、班紫銅の技法を使った凛とした佇まいの水注です。 琢斎の銘＆共箱あり It was made by Honma Takusai, a master metal-casting craftsman from Sado (Niagara pref.), who has been working on the island for six generations since the late Edo period. The number of generations is unknown, but this water pouring vessel has a dignified appearance using the HANSHIDO(班紫銅) technique.
