Le Lotus Noir is one of Jacoulet's most desirable images. For woodprints done late in the artist's life, entire edition were seldom printed. Only sixty Lotus Noir are known to have been printed. Signed in pencil mid-right above the Peony seal. Seals of the carver, Kentaro Maeda, and the printer Tetsunosuke Honda, in lower right margin. Published in 1959. Unnumbered, with red artit's seal on the reverse. Although reverse is quite toned, image within plate line is excellent.
